Spreading the Wisdom of Master Hsing Yun Pt II
Continuing on with a similar event held back on the 1st of January at the Tower Junction Motor Lodge in Riccarton, FGS South Island had, on the 11th of February, donated 15 more English copies of Venerable Master Hsing Yun's《366 Days with Wisdom》to the Athena Motel & Luxury Apartments at Riccarton. Attendees of the book donation ceremony included Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island's temple supervisor Venerable Jue Xi, Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) South Island New Zealand's President See Shen Lee, Vice President Louisa Kuo, Mei-Hwa Chen and four other BLIA directors.
The owner of the motel, Mr. William, was also one of the director's of BLIA. After he knew of the ongoing book donation drive, he eagerly signed up to receive the books, which he thinks will be a welcome addition to his accommodation place's bookshelf. Mr. William said it was terrific to have gotten the book donations, seeing that it will help spread the concepts of Master Hsing Yun's Humanistic Buddhism philosophy to the visitors of the motel, and alleviate their stress. Venerable Jue Xi in response also thanked Mr. William for all the assistance he has provided to the temple and the association over the years, and expressed how the books were but a small token of appreciation from BLIA to acknowledge his help. Also, it was hoped that travellers, after reading the books, will be able to bring some of those wisdom back to their hometowns.
To this day, BLIA's “Sharing wisdom with travellers”book donation drive has already had two successful recipients, and it is hoped that over the year, more tourist accommodation places in Christchurch will be receive the books, and allow the greater public to share and enjoy the wisdom of Master Hsing Yun's Buddhist teachings.
