Visit from New Ambassador of TECO
A total of 7 members from the Taipei Economics and Cultural Office (TECO) in New Zealand including their latest Ambassador-Mr. Wu Jian Guo and his wife, Committee Members-Mr. Alex Fu and Mr. Lin Shi Zheng visited Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island on the 28th of August and were given a warm welcome by 7 Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) South Island members which includes BLIA South Island President-Ms. See Shen, Lee, Advisor-John Lai and Mdm. Sandy Liao.
The visit began with President Lee introducing the guests on the features and architecture of the temple inspired by the Dunhuang Grottoes which also been awarded the National Architecture Prize in year 2007. The temple further reflects art, culture, education and meditation.
Ambassador Wu then kindly shared his experience when he was servicing in Belize, Central America. He has also donated 240 wheelchairs and four scholarships to the city of Ho Chih Minh in Vietnam on behalf of Taipei Economics and Cultural Office; besides that, he shares his close cooperation with FGS Thailand.
On behalf of FGS and BLIA, President Lee then thanked Ambassador Wu for the visit and presented him the “BLIA NZ 2014 Annual Report” magazine conveying greetings from the Abbess and welcomed the Ambassador to visit them again in the future.
