紐西蘭童軍分團Sean Stevens主席參與北島佛誕節的感謝函

我是童軍團 Sean Stevens主席 ，我要特別感謝常住邀請紐西蘭童軍團Ormiston Scout Group 分團分別於4月8日及9日前往北島佛光山參加佛誕節及設置推廣童軍活動，我們很歡喜成為慶典活動的成員之一。
當天童軍團成員除了有駐守攤位，也安排巡禮道場及觀賞各具文化與藝術特色的活動，讓團員可以分享寺院開光十周年暨佛誕慶典的意義
，並沉浸在祥和的氣氛裡。

其中年長的成員帶領幼童軍進行寺院巡禮活動中參與美術館展出的太子特展的浴佛淨心、獻燈許願等活動，也欣賞當地藝術家Dean Buchanan 的油畫展及星雲大師一筆字世界巡迴展的作品；閱讀寺院長廊的「星雲法語」字句；品賞美味的素食等等，寺院在在處處都展現生活的哲學與學習因緣。我們的童軍攤位更是受大眾的歡迎，讓更多的大眾了解童軍團對兒童的意義。

我們僅代表童軍團再次由衷感謝常住的邀請及豐富的體驗，我們希望未來能夠繼續參與道場所舉辦類似的活動。

To Whom it may concern,
As the chairperson of the Ormiston Scout Group committee, I am writing to thank you for the wonderful event that we were invited to take part in. We had a good number of our scouts and cubs onsite for the day, and it was great to immerse them in the sights, sounds and tastes of other cultures.
We took the kids on a tour of the temple and its surrounds, where the art exhibitions and the pictures of the other temples around the world were popular. Also, the many inscriptions around the walls provided some good food for thought and learnings about the values we should all be living to.

Our stall was well visited and it was great to be able to discuss the opportunities that scouting provides for children.

On behalf of the children and the group, thank you so much for the invitation and the great experiences had by all. We would love to attend any similar events in the future.
