Waterdrop Café, South Island Provide Positive Energy for Everyone
Rachael Pickles is a social worker from United Kingdom who came to New Zealand nine months ago. On 2nd October, she was invited by her work partner, Mary to discuss about work issue at Waterdrop Café, South Island. It was her first time visiting the temple which had left her with good impression on the beautiful environment yet delicious vegetarian food. Mary is a frequent customer of café where she will come to the café at least 3 to 4 days a week. Even though the work requires her to have frequent business trips, as long as Mary is at Christchurch, she will pay a visit to the café to enjoy a cuppa or delicious meal accompanied by the beautiful environment.
After Rachael finished her meal, the Art Gallery staff, JuinMei Chang, had provide her a tour around the exhibition of “Traditional Chinese Painting Exhibition” by Professor Kuo and “Floral Art Exhibition” by Venerable Abbess Manshin. Initially she planned to stay for a short minute or two for the visit. However, the impressive painting and floral art exhibition had fascinated her, resulting herself to unknowingly visited the ground exhibition and the first floor, Main Shrine.
Jack Liu, the on-duty volunteer of Main Shrine, had introduced to Rachael the Buddha and decoration in Main Shrine, including the meaning of offering lights and offering incense to Buddha. Rachael felt that Buddhism was very attentive making her very interested in Buddhist etiquette. She deeply appreciate the layout of the temple which gave her a sense of calmness. She mentioned that she will bring friends to the temple in the future to feel the positive energy.
