Water Drop Teahouse gets invited to list on Christchurch NZ Website for Promoting Healthy food and living
On 26 March, Monique Steela from the Christchurch City Development Board sent an email to Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island New Zealand, offering to list the Water Drop Teahouse on the official website of Ōtautahi Christchurch (www.christchurchnz.com), thereby introducing the food to the wider public. Monique personally loves food at the Water Drop Teahouse’s and has first-hand experience with the excellent quality of the dishes, served by friendly staff in an elegant environment. Through the website, she hopes to share the Teahouse’s Half Bowl of Pickled Vegetables origin story, which is from Venerable Master Hsing Yun “repaying a drop of kindness with a gushing stream”. The menu of delicious dishes will be posted on the website, alongside the location and contact information of the Water Drop Teahouse.
In addition to finding more information about the temple, the email also requested for a visit to take some photos and videos. The temple has written back to Christchurch City Council’s Development Board, expressing that they are more than welcome to come for an interview and tour around the place. They were also invited to attend the Buddha's Birthday Multicultural Festival on 17 April, which was an offer that was gladly taken up too.
The official website of Christchurch NZ is mainly about introducing life style in Christchurch to be explore. It includes things like places to shop, eat and stay, as well as essential information on transportation, learning, leisure, sports, etc. The website has large viewership numbers including more than 80,000 followers on Facebook. Through mutual cooperation, we hope to promote the philosophy of Humanistic Buddhism to more people living in Christchurch, New Zealand.
