On 7th July 2020, 12 members of Rotary Club of Riccarton, Christchurch, visited Fo Guang Shan (FGS) Temple South Island. They were welcomed by Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) South Island member Juin Mei. The Rotarians have previously visited FGS Temple South Island several times, and have been impressed by the serene and peaceful ambience of the Temple. This time around, after the lifting of the Lockdown, they seized the opportunity to revisit the Temple.

Juin Mei first introduced the visitors to the Treasure of Nature Enlighten You Photography Exhibition by Photographer Toney Su held at the Fo Guang Yuan (FGY) Art Gallery. The visitors were full of praises for Toney’s works and were astonished by Toney’s unique style of capturing and interpreting Nature’s beauties through his lens. Upstairs at the Calm and Chaos Exhibition, exhibiting works on both paper and film, the visitors were much taken in by the artists’ talents and dedications. 10 years ago, the same group of visitors attended the Wonders of Embroidery Exhibition at the FGY Art Gallery Christchurch, and witnessed Artist Yao Hong Ying performing her artworks live. Until today, they still could not forget about the exhibition and were still full of praises for the skills and talents of Artist Yao. In fact, they asked if it is possible to have the same Embroidery Exhibition again in FGY Art Gallery Christchurch.

Later, the visitors adjourned to the Water Drop Café for their high tea and found the delicacies served delicious and satisfying. While enjoying their high tea, Juin Mei and BLIA Committee member Cao Qian introduced to the visitors the programs and contents of the coming Blessing Chocolatte 2020- Coffee and Chocolate Festival CHCH. The visitors showed much interest in the live performance by coffee artist, the live personal demonstration by Coffee Tasters Champion, and the musical and other artistic entertainments. They promised to come for the Coffee and Chocolate Festival on 25th July 2020.
