“Transience” Exhibition by Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery and the Morant Foundation
From 8th July to 1st September, Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery Christchurch will be hosting the “Transience” exhibition led by New Zealand artist Keith Morant who will also bring 13 other artists under the Morant Foundation to show their work. A meeting was organised on 15th June with Keith Morant and the art gallery to discuss about the exhibition details.
The meeting was chaired by the art gallery’s Public Relations and attended by Keith alongside the 13 other artists. The agenda included what type of exhibits will be included in the exhibition, how long they will be on display, how the exhibition will be advertised, and details about the opening exhibition. The “Transience” exhibition will included oil paintings, watercolour paintings, mixed media, teeth and craft carvings, stone carvings, weaving work, etc. In order to make the exhibition more perfect, there will also be short films introducing the artists’ background and work, so the visitors can have a better understanding of the exhibition.
Keith Morant had previously put on exhibitions at Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery Auckland and Christchurch, both of which have been well received. This time he is leading 13 artists from the Morant Foundation to exhibit together, much like a small art salon. This will set off a new wave that will sweep the art world in Christchurch!
