The Successful Completion of ‘New Zealand Nature Exhibition’ at FGY Art Gallery Christchurch

01 / 09

The New Zealand Nature Exhibition at Fo Guang Yuan (FGY) Art Gallery Christchurch had successfully ended on 3 April 2022. Artist Kyra Weir, with the assistance of her son, nephew and Gallery staff Kok Wei Low, unloaded the exhibits.

New Zealand Natural Exhibition exhibited 25 pieces of Kyra’s paintings. The themes of the paintings depicted not only New Zealand's natural scenes, but were also tinted with a strong human touch. Artist Kyra had painted in acrylic to bring objects to life and to be three-dimensional. During the Exhibition, many local people visited the Art Gallery and praised Artist Kyra, who is already a grandmother herself, for her persistence and perseverance in her artistic endeavour.  Through the paintings in the Exhibition, the public could appreciate other facets of New Zealand's natural sceneries, and therefrom, treasure the harmonious coexistence that occurs in Nature.

On her part, Kyra would like to thank FGY Art Gallery Christchurch for providing her a platform to exhibit her works, and thereby fulfilling her dream of holding a solo exhibition. This was the first time Kyra had held a solo exhibition of such a large scale. She felt that the visitors were filled with positivity after visiting the Exhibition, which coincided with her intention to convey the message of Peace through her paintings. She was delighted to be able to present the most beautiful side of Nature to the public through her brushstrokes, and to inject warmth into today's troubled Society.
