The Aotearoa Quilters National Association plan to organise World Tour Exhibition in FGY Art Gallery Christchurch
On 27 October 2020, Catherine McDonald and Julia Arden, the committee of Aotearoa Quilters National Association and SAQA Oceania, discussed with Fo Guang Yuan (FGY) public relations Ryan Wang and Kok Wei Low about the exhibition tour next year in FGY Christchurch.
The Aotearoa Quilters National Association is organising world tour exhibition in three international cities which locate in France, New Zealand and Japan with 180 pieces of patchwork in year 2021. Therefore, the organiser are looking for venue and arranging for a national tour before going abroad.
SAQA Oceania and Australian Quilters had organised an exhibition, Connections with 30 pieces of patchwork to be exhibited in Australia after New Zealand.
Abbess Manshin was impressed by the amazing patchworks of quilting artists Therefore, FGY will be supporting the artist by sponsoring the venue for 180 patchworks from the international tour to be exhibited in the FGY Art Galleries New Zealand. In addition, the exhibition, Connections with 30 pieces of patchworks will be exhibited in FGY Christchurch by end of 2021 and further arrangement for FGY Auckland.
