The 8th 3G4G Festival of Cultural Sharing_Session 12 & 13 Experience the Calming Power

The 8th 3G4G Festival of Cultural Sharing entered the 12th and 13th sessions on 13th May 2022. In the morning 225 students (Year 7 & 8) from Farm Cove Intermediate School and 15 teachers made their first trip to FGS Auckland. In the afternoon 200 students (Year 3 & 4) from Baverstock Oaks School walked to the Temple accompanied by 25 teachers and parents.

Area Commander of Counties Manukau East Inspector Scott Gemmell, and Senior Sergeant Anson Lin came to support the education program. They experienced Tai Chi with students, and Insp Gemmell encouraged students to learn the good attitude, building good relationship with others and be a kind human who bring benefit to the society.

Teacher Teresa Lu said this is the first time for Farm Cove School participated in the 3G4G Festival of Cultural Sharing education program. She felt relaxed physically and mentally with the peaceful atmosphere as well as the mindfulness activities such as meditation and writing calligraphy. In addition, the refreshment - Labe Rice was very popular among teachers and students. The whole visit was full of surprises! She is looking forward to bring the second batch of student to visit in August.

"Laba Rice really lives up to its reputation!" One parent shared that her daughter visited the Temple last week, and keep saying that the Laba Rice is extremely delicious! Hence, the mother is also looking forward to visit with her son today, where she can taste the it in person.

Baverstock Oaks School came in the afternoon; the school has participated in the education program for 7 consecutive years. The Deputy Principal Andrew Flanagan accompanied the students walked to the Temple for the program. He thanked the Temple for donating the school epidemic prevention resources several times during the pandemic. Teachers and students were very much looking forward to coming to the "Temple next door".

A parent who visit for the first time, shared that she enjoyed the tranquility atmosphere in the Temple. Her favourite activity is Taichi and meditation which she can feel calm and at peace. As she expressed, it was incredible and amazing to see over 200 students being so calm doing the meditation.
