Team-building and Enrichment of Buddhism - Children Dharma Class

01 / 11

On July 23rd, Term 3 began for the Children's Dharma Class, igniting anticipation and enthusiasm as students and instructors reunited at the Temple. This term welcomed five new members, eager to nurture their Bodhi Seeds alongside peers.

To kick off the term, the children engaged in a captivating team-building activity. Split into groups, armed with ping pong balls and cardboard, students embarked on a creative journey. Their task: guiding the ball along cardboard tracks as a unified team. Through this, they refined qualities like focus, patience, discipline, and diligence. Notably, Tanush found the activity so enjoyable that he recreated it at home, while Nora highlighted the lesson on teamwork.

The following week marked the highlight of the term—the Global Buddhism Exam. Students diligently prepared for this occasion, revising vital teachings, including Venerable Master's 3G4G principles, Temple etiquette, essential Dharma doctrines, and Prince Siddhartha's path to Buddhahood. This exam, featuring multiple-choice and true-false questions, offered students a platform to showcase their insights. A unique aspect was its flexibility, allowing some to participate at the Temple with BLIA members, and others from home. The exam not only deepened their understanding of Buddhism but also presented a growth-oriented challenge. Raymond Hu found satisfaction in learning about Buddhism's history, while John recognized the importance of waste reduction and environmental preservation.

Lastly, in the month's final class, Lucas Jiang and John Chow were congratulated as the newly appointed Class Monitors for Term 3. These exceptional students are set to embark on a journey of leadership and responsibility, guiding peers and assisting instructors, setting a positive example for the class.
