Tea Party held for Kitchen Volunteers to Build Connection

On 16th of July 2021, a tea party for kitchen volunteers was held at the dining hall at FGS Auckland. Abbess Manshin, Venerable Rulian, President of the BLIA North Island Sub Chapter 3 Evelyn Gu, President of Sub Chapter 4 Annie Chang and advisor Veronica Lee, with a total of 18 volunteers attended this event.

Abbess Manshin shared with everyone about the recent activities the Temple has held and the huge ongoing maintenance work at the Temple. Through the sharing, the volunteers gained a better understanding of the daily operations in the Temple and the purpose of Temple in serving the community. Abbess also stated her appreciation to all the volunteers who spent their time working together with the Temple and serve the public in different ways. She encouraged them to spend time reading Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s book to enrich their mind, keep learning and improving.

President Evelyn Gu shared that this tea party has connected the kitchen volunteers together as everyone volunteers at the Temple at different times. She was also touched by Abbess’s sharing about the mission of the Temple serving the community. Even though there are many things to do, there is also happiness.

Several new volunteers said that they were very happy to participate in the tea party. They expressed they were very fortunate to learn Buddhism with the Venerables at Fo Guang Shan Temple. They vowed to work diligently to serve the public together.
