School Community Officers Auckland Held a Meeting in FGS Auckland Empowering Their Minds and Bodies

01 / 10

On 23rd June 2022, a total of 12 School Community Officers (SCO) attended a training workshop at FGS Auckland on teenage drinking and driving incidents, and road safety. Meanwhile, Abbess Manshin appreciated the commitment of SCO, who supported the 3G4G Festival of Cultural Sharing education program in the past 8 years, especially Snr Const Matt Green who has been involved for the last five years consecutively. In addition, the SCO work together with the Temple Team to deliver 15 000 RAT Kits to 97 local schools in New Zealand within four days. They have speed up the delivery as they familiar with the School Principal, location of schools and easy access to schools.

Snr Const Green felt grateful as Temple provided a tranquil spot for their workshop, which inspired their mind. The speaker Sandra Dacey is the Programme Delivery Lead of SADD (Students Against Dangerous Driving), a student-led organisation promoting safer driving. She talked about how to deliver the message of road safety to teenagers. According to Sandra, she was one of the horse riders to the Temple during the 75th Anniversary of Policewomen. She was touched when she saw the horse-riding picture of her in FGS NZ 10 Anniversary Report.

Snr Const Mo, who gets to know Temple through 3G4G, said Temple always gives others joy and is pleased to join the workshop in this peace Temple providing tasty vegetarian food. Snr Constable Phillips said Temple is always sunny whenever she visits and appreciated Temple Team for preparing hot coffee and refreshments to keep everyone warm in this cold weather. Constable Perese has brought her family to Temple once and shared that people need a space like this to settle their minds and hope to get her family to experience the positive vibe again in the Temple. Constable Tan felt warm when returning to Temple since he visited in 2019 with the Wing 329. He was surprised to see his photo included in the BLIA report. The police officers appreciated the Temple’s hospitality and looking forward to visit the Temple again.
