‘To appreciate’&‘improvement’

Tai Chi & Meditation Saturday Service 12 July 2008

Fourteen members participated in the service. The object of the motive meditation was ‘to appreciate’. Members were asked to select an object and focus on their awareness of touch, feelings and appreciation. The aim was to form the habit of the intention of appreciating any person, thing and condition to realise the Law of Interdependence and cherish each of the present conditions.

Through sitting meditation participants applied the experience of letting go of desire and resisting being appreciated, appreciating what we have and what we don not have.

During the discussion session Venerable Miaoyu shared Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s words regarding ‘improvement’ which are, to find our weak and disadvantage points and change them; to repent our inability; to be aware and transcend our defilements and to understand our problems and resolve them.
