Seven things no one else can do on our behalf.

Tai Chi and Meditation Saturday Service

Fifteen people attended the Saturday Service on July 5, including two new attendees. The focus of meditation was on the earth, incorporating what we can learn from the earth and apply in our daily lives. Venerable Miaoyu led a discussion raising awareness about how the earth is like a model for us, providing an example and demonstrating how we can show tolerance, resilience, forbearance and so on, in our daily lives. The Venerable shared with everyone that there are seven points that we each need to do by ourselves, which no one else can do on our behalf.

These seven points are:
1. Eating, drinking and going to the toilet
2. Birth, sickness, ageing and death
3. Cause, conditions, effect and retribution
4. Being accepted by others
5. His / Her thought and will
6. Suffering and defilement
7. Growth and improvement

Everyone happily shared their new learning, experiences and realisations during the service discussion and expressed their joy at gaining more guidelines to help them walk further along the Humanistic Buddhism path.
