New Zealand Young Adult Division at ANZBYC – the adventure continues while tripping through Perth
The 8 member NZ YAD team arrived early at Perth on 4th July to attend the ANZBYC (Australian New Zealand Buddhist Youth Conference). After arriving, everybody were eager to tour and learn about the local environment, so the Perth YAD team leader Loong took everyone on a temple tour. The Perth Fo Guang Shan was constructed in 1955. Despite its small size, the temple retained a traditional and classical appearance. The visiting youth deeply experienced the importance of cherishing our good conditions while they are still here. Hence they aspire to utilize their own strength to maintain these important cultural traditions, thus continuing the hard work of their forbearers.
Afterwards, the NZ YAD team visited Perth’s CDB, central museum and library. The city’s magnificent architecture, bustling city life, conveniences and colorful sceneries was an eye opening experience for these visiting youth. Now they finally understand the philosophy of “The world’s broadness depends on the openness of our mind”. A great person still needs the support of a team to achieve his endeavors, so as long as we set our minds to achieve, we will surly succeed. Inside the museum and the library, everyone discovered more sceneries of great proportion, and a plentitude of deep knowledge.
Through the visiting of the Perth Fo Guang Shan temple, CDB, museum and library, these NZ Fo Guang youth from down under have certainly experienced an enriching trip.
