Cafe Secret visits Fo Guang Shan again

01 / 05

The Tv3 program “Cafe Secret” visited Fo Guang Shan earlier on April to film cuisines from the Water Drop Café. To ensure the coverage of the history and unique features of the cafe, director Maxin Clayton, show presenter Julie Le Clerc and the film crew returned to the temple for more footage.

On 18th June, the Cafe Secret crew arrived at the temple; they were greeted by Chairperson Annie Ng, who also undertook interview for the show. Fo Guang Shan North Island BLIA president Dolly Tsai and 9 other committee members were also drafted in as extras to provide a livelier atmosphere for the episode. The interview queries included subjects such as:

1. The history behind Fo Guang Shan and Water Drop Café
2. The inspiration behind using wooden benches and branches inside the café.
3. Why are there only vegetarian options?
4. The symbolism behind all the café decorations.

With information and assistance provided by Venerable Abbess Manshin, the filming was again very successful.
