01 / 08

Buddha Light International Association (BLIA)South Island New Zealand West one chapter held a dharma discussion class on 24th June at 10am. Approximately 20 people participated. The class was led by BLIA vice president, Louisa Kuo, The class was based on one of the Master Hsing Yun’s written book called Between Ignorance and Enlightenment the topic was to self educate. After everyone read the article the leader led everyone to share their thoughts and perceptions on self educating.

One of the many that was present said that the topic , self educating, is very broad, it requires one to be motivated to become better, understand him or her and to self improve. Mr Eugene Yu mentioned that “learn for a life time” is a good way to self educate oneself, it allows one to be constantly learning through different stages of life and it will not be halted due to aging. Lastly the discussion concluded with three questions raised by the leader and a summary. First question was what is the importance of life and why is it important when we know that being a human is a very precious? Second question was how to understand your own weaknesses? Lastly she asked how to not rely on anything but only rely on oneself and dharma? Louisa Kuo summarized with self leaning, self fulfilling, self asking, self awareness, self moltivating , self reflecting , self enlightening, to conclude the discussion.
