BLIA NZ's Executive Seminar - The Power of Faith
On 19th May Fo Guang Shan (FGS) North Island New Zealand held a workshop for North and South Island executives. Under the president of the BLIA North Island Dolly Tsai, gathering BLIA South Island president See Shen Lee, vice president, Yang Ying Chen, North Island East One division president, Jennifer Leong, directors and North Island committees together 45 people attended this event, The North Island BLIA president talked through every participants about the content of different classes and etiquettes. The Supervisor of FGS South Island Venerable Jue Xi has given lectures on Dharma and topic of “how to be a Fo Guang member?” One of the participants’ thought was that dharma was more important than law and emotional afflictions are less important than dharma afflictions towards others. It is more important to execute than just discuss with no actions and have to focus on right and wrong.
In the afternoon lectures Venerable Rulian guided everyone with songs from rhythm of the world new released song such as “Power in Giving ” , “Transform”, “Cheer for the world ” etc. During lunch everyone was enjoying the Buddhist music. Abbess Venerable Manshin gave a lecture on “how to gain confidence in faith?”, in order for a person to gain confidence in faith he or she needs to gain benefit from the faith , benefits come from spiritual inspiration, merit, Compassion, wisdom, experience, emptiness. Also, Abbess mentioned that the faith of humanistic Buddhism can be obtained by people, time and space to expand and experience. Only looking and observe at ourselves will let you gain confidence. All the executives enjoyed the delicious and healthy meals and all received a “Good Fortune and Good Luck” calligraphy word by Venerable Master Hsing Yun, “a rhythm of the world” CD and completion of this event.
