Final Meeting for Buddha's Birthday Celebration
On 20th April evening, Buddha Light International Association (BLIA)South Island New Zealand held the final preparation meeting for 2012 Buddha’s Birthday. BLIA South Island President See Shen Lee, BLIA North Island President Dolly Tsai, BLIA directors Susan Wu, Benny Wong, Mei-Hwa Chen, BLIA members and Youth Adult Division (YAD) members all together 50 person participated. Fo Guang Shan (FGS) New Zealand Abbess Manshin personally guided meeting, South Island temple Supervisor Venerable Jue Xi, Venerable Miao Yu, Venerable Rulian participated. All group leaders report their current status of work detail with energetic and joyful mindset. The usher group stated that this year Buddha’s Birthday have approximately 50 honorary guests promised to attend. Performance group reported that this year will have 10 multi-cultural performances and it will surprise everyone. The performance included Japanese drum, Shao lin kung fu, Mongolia dances and the hand gesture performance by YAD.
The Food stall group reported there will be 6 food stalls serving with Taiwanese, Cantonese, ASEAN style delight food, hope it will move the appetites of participant during Buddha’s Birthday. The manpower group appreciated the YAD member and volunteers in helping to set up the stage, food stalls and bathe Buddha area in this few days. President See Shen Lee appreciated BLIA New Zealand members and volunteers in order to make this Buddha Birthday celebration happen.
Abbess Manshin stated that because BLIA member have a mindset not afraid of any request and bravely accept the change that required. By undertake the task to let every event towards excellent and she glad that BLIA member can work together in this time and space to succeed the Buddha’s Birthday. She hopes everyone can have common interest to offer and serve the participants with joyful heart. Temples have gifted those participants in meeting with the latest “2012 BLIA New Zealand reports”.
