BLIA - Sharing the Beauty & Touching of Dharma
The Buddha Light International Association (BLIA) held a joint tea communion on the 7th April. A total of 30 BLIA members attended including south island president See Shen Lee, deputy president Gina Chen, Loiusa Kuo, Mr. and Mrs John Lai, and the BLIA West first divisional president Susan Wu. Susan Wu started the communion with the opening introduction giving thanks to all the participants, hoping that members can share their temple experiences and responses.
President See Shen Lee claimed that by gathering at the temple is a show of support to the BLIA, and hoped that all members can continue to participate in the many following events. Deputy president Louisa Kuo thanked the venerables for giving her life lessons which could not be achieved back in university. Dharma Lecturer Rona Ku claimed that it has been 21 years since the founding of the south island association by Honour member Mr. James Ku and her joining the association. After James Ku’s recent decease, the support received from the venerables and BLIA members profoundly moved her, which she would give her greatest appreciation to.
Advisor John Lai said that the previous reading sessions had to be held at other venues. However, it is now perfect to have the Buddha Hall and tea-house to hold the gatherings.
Mr. Eugene Yu said that he has never missed a single Dharma function or other events held by the temple. He is ready to give a hand whenever the venerables need it. Eugene Yu believes that as long as there lives a continuous peaceful heart, one can feel Buddha’s compassion, and will therefore follow Buddha’s teachings forever.
Mrs. Mei-Hwa Chen said that she and her companion Happy joined the BLIA 20 years ago. Learning Buddhism is her greatest investment in life, and now she profoundly feels the pay-backs the Dharma learning can give. Therefore, no matter how exhausting and busy life treats her, she never forgets to come back to the temple.
BLIA member Annie said after joining the BLIA for some years, she felt repented because only recently had she drew closer to the temple, a short trip to Fo Guang Shan Headquarter longevity garden that let her parent encounter with the Buddhism is the happiest thing. Venerable Miao Yu encourage everyone should have the passion for helping the Buddhism, propagating the humanistic Buddhism and benefit everyone.
Temple supervisor Venerable Jue Xi appreciated the protection and support of Buddha and BLIA members that let all the venerables not alone on their journey, she encourage BLIA member should always have the mindset of “cultivate the percepts keeps cleansing” and “cleansing ourselves and cultivate the precepts” it will lead us to walk relax and freely in Buddha path and livelihood. BLIA members appreciate the temple and the association to conduct such a meaningful gathering which helped them to learn and encourage each other and raise the confidence faith towards Buddhism.
