29th March - Temple tour from Tamaki College

On 29th March 15 Maori high school students and teachers from Tamaki College had a temple tour Their goal is to better understand other religions and different culture’s way of life.

A volunteer, Annie Ng led this tour, with explanation of the Humanistic Buddhism, the architecture of the temple and education. The core value on: the 3 Acts of Goodness [with good thoughts, good actions and good/kind words] and 4 types of Gives [Give others Confidence, Give others joy, Give others Hope, Give others convenience] had left the students with great impression.

After visiting Fo Guang Shan, they were pleasantly surprised to discover Buddhism’s tolerance, acceptance and open hearted attitude to others. They left with a joyful and wonderful impression of Buddhism and Fo Guang Shan.
