Irish Visitors Visiting Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery
New Zealand Justices of Peace and New Zealand South Island Buddha’s Light International Association consultant Mr Ron Wright and Ms Shona Ross led Martyn Terry and Aice Terry, both from Irish, for a visit of New Zealand Fo Guang Yuan Art gallery on 30th March in the morning. An art gallery tour was given by the Fo Guan Yuan Art Gallery’s relation representative See Shen Lee on Master Hsing Yun’s One Stroke Calligraphy Exhibition and the Carton Exhibition by Feng Shi Fong. After the tour Abbess Man Shin greeted them and had a conversation with them.
Ron stated that Martyn and Alice’s trip to Fo Guang Yuan this time was on behalf of the British artiest Anthony Christian, to know the possibilities of holding his exhibition in New Zealand South Island Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery. They emphasized that the environment and serenity condition of the Art Gallery really suited Anthony’s art works. They hoped that Anthony’s art works could be exhibited at New Zealand Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery 2.
Martyn and Alice also introduced Anthony Christian’s back ground. Anthony Christian was born in London, England in 1945. He loved making paintings when he was young and he always go to the national museum to observe master pieces from famous painters. As time goes by Anthony’s art works have turned into the most renaissance art work in the 16th century. Currently Anthony is 67 years old and he is looking to migrate to New Zealand to continue his career as an artist. Martyn and Alice were thankful to Abbess, Reverends and Buddha Light International Association (BLIA) South Island New Zealand president for accompanying them and letting them understand more about Fo Guang Shan South Island New Zealand and Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery.
