To be mindful of our interdependence with nature, as well as the need to protect planet Earth’s resources
Sunday Dharma Service
On 29 June, Venerable Manwang gave a talk to around eighty disciples, regarding the film, “The Day After Tomorrow.” The Venerable encouraged everyone to take a message from the film, to develop greater awareness of the need for us to cherish the natural world around us, to be mindful of our interdependence with nature, as well as the need to protect planet Earth’s resources. The Venerable reminded everyone of the need to value and appreciate our loved ones and those surrounding us, here and now in this present time.
The Venerable emphasised the importance of recycling, in order for us to help conserve our precious natural resources, for the future. It was suggested that everyone bring a recyclable bowl and chopsticks, to use for having their lunch, after the Dharma Service.
One way that we could use, to start turning good intentions into action, is by first cherishing ourselves and each other and by making a determined effort to recycle wherever possible, and not waste our natural resources.
