Delicious Food for Buddha’s Birthday Celebration

For welcoming the upcoming Buddha’s Birthday event on 21stApril this year, on 11th march and 18th March Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island New Zealand with ten BLIA members leaded by Buddha Light International Association (BLIA) vice president Gina Chen and directed by venerable Miaoyu ,prepared all sorts of delicious food for sell. Food such as vegetarian buns, turnip cakes, sticky rice dumplings and many other more delicious foods were made.

On 11th March preparation started in the morning at ten and more than 400 sticky rice dumplings were produced and everyone including FGS volunteers and customers had begun ordering them.

On 18th March 10 am vice president Gina Chen again with a number of volunteers got together and prepared the ingredients for making radish cakes and vegetarian buns. With the guidance from Mrs. Wu, delicious and mouth watering radish cakes were completed. Also with the Help from BLIA Youth Adult Division member, David, he made the vegetarian buns very firm, chewy and nice with his strong hands when mixing dough. The 200 tasty vegetarian buns were made with delicious fillings made from many volunteers also 200 radish cakes were produced. Many people started to order them. FGS and BLIA will continue produce delicious and healthy food to sell to everyone in the coming weeks for Buddha’s Birthday.
