The Art of Flora shows the level of life

On 24th of January 1pm, Fo Guang Shan (FGS) New Zealand Venerable Abbess Manshin, FGS South Island temple supervisor Venerable Jue Xi, Venerable Miao Yu, Buddha Light International Association (BLIA) president See Shen, Lee went to volunteer May Wang’s house to have a New Years house blessing. MeiQiong’s husband is a gynecologist and is interested in planting trees and flowers in their New Zealand house, which is beneficial to the environment and makes himself feel peaceful. May Wang is a member of Christchurch Ikebana association. With her unique flower arrangement style and artistic judgment, May Wang always comes to FGS temple to help with flower arrangement with her Taiwanese friends and every work is praised.

Everyone visited Doctor Hsu’s garden and path. Venerable Abbess shared her experience of planting trees and recommended good ways of trees characteristics and trees maintenance. Then May Wang shared her experience of flower arrangement and introduced her varied collections of art works. Besides, they also discussed how to improve the qualities of life and how to integrate into the local life and culture after immigration.

Venerable Abbess Manshin reminded MeiQiong and Doctor Hsu to visit FGS North Island temple and Fo Guang Shan Head Quarter’s Buddha Memorial Centre. May Wang showed their appreciation to Venerable Abbess and everyone for the house blessing. At last, Venerable Abbess Manshin gave “Cloud and Water”, “The level of life” and 2012 Calendar as the gift.
