Master Hsing Yun CNY letter to the devotees
Fo Guang Shan (FGS) south island New Zealand held the Thousand Buddha Dharma function at 10 am on the 24th January i.e. second day of Chinese New Year celebration. FGS New Zealand Venerable Abbess Manshin led more than 40 devotees in chanting the Thousand Buddha sutra and Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s “Prayer for the Chinese New Year”. Although the Chinese New year is on a weekday, some of the working BLIA members or devotees were able to have some free time to attend the dharma function. For Chinese New Year, by hearing the dharma talk by venerable helped gain some wisdom and is an act consider as appreciate to the dharma.
After the dharma function, Abbess Read out a Chinese New Year letter that was written by Venerable Master Hsing Yun. Master reminded everyone not forget to enhance themselves in this New Year. How to enhance ourselves? How to improved self wisdom? By encouraging everyone to look after their own action, word and mind. Abbess also shared the three kind of wisdom in Buddhism which is: listen, think and practice or recite the dharma you had learnt. Abbess praised the BLIA New Zealand had brought back energy, courage and passionate after visiting the Buddha Memorial Centre (BMC) in Taiwan. She hoped everyone will continue to work hard on the way of Buddha path and also vow to become a permanent staff of Buddhism. All the devotees were humble by the word of Abbess and they vowed to visit BMC to witness the Buddha tooth relic and become the volunteer in near future.
