Fulfilling Buddha’s Light Dharma Function

In order to transfer the merit of Buddha’s light support by devotees, Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island held 2011 “Fulfilling Buddha’s Light Dharma function”, over 50 Buddhist devotees presided by Venerable Abbess Manshin chanted “Avalokitesvara (Guan Yin) Bodhisattva sutra” and also chant the “Prayer for the Light Offering” written by Venerable Master Hsing Yun. As the dharma function end, Abbess shared the experience of participant in opening ceremony of Buddha Memorial Centre which held in Taiwan on last month December. She expressed that BLIA New Zealand have shown a great team work, effort, spirit and in good order structure during attending that opening ceremony. With over 100 BLIA NZ member wearing the same uniform, Maori culture style graphic head bandana and scarf have attract everyone eyes. Although New Zealand is from far south but when step on the world stage it showed the passion and shine of proud Kiwi in that ceremony. The Various pictures show the majesty atmosphere of that grand opening ceremony.

Besides that, They were 3 youth attended the Novice Monk precepts and another 2 youth have taken the Maha Precepts class during the 2011 Triple Platform Maha Precepts ceremony. At the same time, 2 temple supervisor from New Zealand have became the supervisor of that Maha precepts ceremony, some devotees also attend Land and Water Dharma function and so on. Benny and Nathan have shared their joy and humble moment during the Short term monastic retreat.

After that, Abbess lead everyone to read out the “2012 letter from Venerable Master Hsing Yun”. In the letter Master have shown the concern for devotees, Taiwan society and all the volunteers around the world which giving the support. The dharma function ended with humble moment and which gave everyone an unforgettable night.
