Beginning of FGS Chinese School term for 4th February 2012 – 11 February

01 / 04

The new school term orientation on the 4th February was conducted by guiding Venerable ManWang and executive principal Mdm Stella Lu.

Mdm Stella Lu reminded the students to show respect to their parents and guardians, and to be vigilant with the 3 Acts of Goodness [good thoughts, good actions and good/kind words] and 4 types of Gives [Give others Confidence, Give others Joy, Give others Hope, Give others Convenience]. Ven ManWang then gave the students a quiz based on these moral values, encourage these young people to apply them in their daily life.

The orientation ended with a few stories: “Master Hsing Yun and a mouse” and “Master Hsing Yun deals with mischievous students”. The role of the FGS Chinese School has always been to teach Mandarin and advocate moral values at the same time - to let the students understand that material life cannot provide them with permanent peace. These young students will feel that life is full of hope and meaning, and they will have a true sense of peace.
