Abbess Manshin led 60 devotees in chanting [88 Buddha repentance chant] and reading [the prayer for devotees]. Abbess Manshin then gave a speech on “how to trimmed our fault and cultivate ourselves.”
A practitioner is required to be mindful at all time while at work and enrich our life; learn from our mistakes and read dharma words for wisdom. She narrated two stories “a practitioner worships a pile of white bones” and “a ghost whipped it body” , the moral of these stories is to tamed ourselves from 3 poisons (greed, anger and ignorance) and 5 concealments/ troubles (derived from 5 desires – money, lust, fame, food and sleep) . How we can change from adversity with a thought.
