Recruiting from North for Parade Crowd
The greatest annual South Island parade that attracts at least hundreds and thousands of people have been decided to take place at 2 pm on the summer of December 4 at Riccarton Road, the road just in front of Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island. With this, an estimated big crowd surrounds and visits the temple itself. In order to prepare and cope with any emergencies and the crowd, on December 3, Venerable Abbess Manshin led volunteers from the Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) North Island down south to assist fellow members in this Christchurch temple. The assisting team came from all three generations with Hans, Candice together with youths like Jeremy, Alvin, Annjo and many more. Venerable Miaoyu from FGS South Island and BLIA South Island upcoming president See-Shen Lee had a briefing with all volunteers upon their arrival on December 3 with the Abbess hoping joyfulness from the volunteers of both BLIA North and South Island will bring safety and happiness to the parade crowd.
