A Tour with A Dharma Talk and Souvenirs
Husband and wife Zhao-Wen Yang and Xue-Xiang Su, both members of the Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) North Island, with hearts of compassion and propagating Dharma, invited their friends from Malaysia that were visiting to New Zealand into Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island. In the afternoon of December 2, a total of 29 guests from Malaysia were warmly welcomed by Fo Guang Shan’s Venerable Miaoyu, BLIA South Island upcoming president See-Shen Lee, members Ding Lihson and Mei-Er Chai. Amongst the guests is the ex-president of BLIA in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia.
They were first delighted with information given to them by Ding about the history, design and architecture of the building.
Besides that, they were also given a chance to visit the current exhibition of Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery, In the Forest - A Conversation with Light by local artist Coral Harnett.
Following the tour, Venerable Miaoyu presided the group to the Buddha Hall. Everyone prostrated by making incense offering to the Buddha and with this cause and condition, Venerbale Miaoyu has given them a short Dharma talk on how to improve the value of life. In the end of the tour, the venerable not only given them a souvenir of wisdom through the Dharma talk, but also presented each of them a souvenir card of Buddha and Bodhisattvas. The pious devotees were so grateful, they continued down to the reception area to get more souvenirs for friends and family back home.
