Pancakes Prepared for Lantern Festival

01 / 04

The “Lantern Festival” that was planned for the last February was canceled because of the earthquake. Through planning and efforts of the organizers, this festival has been called up again for February 11 and 12 at Hagley Park. Fo Guang Shan (FGS) and Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) South Island were invited to attend and have a stall for food and cultural items again. Three food stalls and a cultural stall were booked this time in this famous “Lantern Festival”.

As this year end, a lot of volunteers will be at the opening of the Buddha Memorial Center in Taiwan and a lot will also be going back to their home countries, an early preparation has to be made. BLIA South Island North Subchapter president Christine Wang, vice-president MeiLing and 4 more volunteers prepared 600 raw coriander pancakes on November 19 for the event. This preparation of love for the public has been done with great love and joy.
