A visit from Papakura Idea Service Counties
11 November 2011
On this nice sunny day, a group of intellectual disabled led by Mr Kobert, to visit the temple. The group was received by a FGS volunteer.
The visitors was amazed by the scenery and its building, and were fascinated when they were led into the Main shrine. One of the members, Asapha, had brought some drawing material with him. He was quick to sketch the drum, the statue of Buddha, the cherry blossom, stone lamp etc; Asapha is splendid at drawing. Another one, Anthony; he brought a camera with him and was too busy taking photo in every corner of the FGS surroundings. Finally, the group enjoy themselves under the cherry blossom trees. They will definitely spread the words around.
Both the architecture and its value in FGS temple, is used to propagate Buddhism; part of the core value by the founder, Venerable Master Hsing Yun “let the Buddha’s light shine universally, and the dharma stream flow eternally across the five continents.”
