01 / 06

16 members from the Christchurch Austrian Choir visited Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island on November 15 with their organizer for this trip, Madam Jolande Tschopp from Switzerland. Jolande visited FGS South Island a week earlier and was impressed by the building and atmosphere. She then decided to organize a trip for her choir members that are from all over the world to come and enjoy the venue.

Jolande and the Austrian Choir Group arrived to FGS South Island at 3.00 pm and were welcomed by Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) South Island member Ding Lihson. They were then introduced to the Buddha Hall and later on enjoyed a scrumptious afternoon tea at the Water Drop Cafe. Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery Christchurch artistic coordinator See-Shen Lee then took them to a tour in the exhibition of Coral Harnett’s oil painting and the Life Prose Poetry Comic Exhibition by Mr Zikai Feng and Ms Yiyin Feng.

The choir group were surprised by the architecture and the design of the building, the cross culture of the exhibitions of the art gallery and the amazing food from the Water Drop Cafe. They would like to really to sing a song at the temple when given a chance. All of them expressed the love to the temple and will come back again with family and friends.
