In the Forest – A Conversation with Light

01 / 10

Fo Guang Yuan (FGY) Art Gallery held an exhibition opening of a talented artist, Coral Harnett, bringing her artwork of “In the Forest – A Conversation with Light” on October 15 with Coral’s 60 friends and family members. FGY NZ curator Venerable Abbess Manshin was also invited to give encouragement and word of wisdoms to the artist. Venerable Abbess Manshin has praised the detailed and depth of the introverted artist, bringing out light and theatre in the trees and blossoms in her artwork. Coral was grateful that the art gallery provided her a dignified and magnificent venue for her art. She also thanked her mother in giving her cultivation and confidence, moreover helping to overcome her difficulties and completing her dreams. It was a great speech from Coral and it took everyone’s breath away.

Coral is a local artist that trained as a painter at Canterbury Universities School of Fine Arts. She developed an affinity for oil panting plants and animals in varying light. She earned her reputation in Fine Arts school as a Painter’s painter. This exhibition of 3 months will surely bring Christchurch the quiet colours of hope and joy.
