The Opening of Life Prose Poetry Comic Exhibition
October 15 marks the date of the “Life Prose Poetry Comic Exhibition by Mr ZiKai Feng and Ms YiYing Feng” opening in Fo Guang Yuan (FGY) Art Gallery Christchurch. The FGY Art Gallery Christchurch invited the curator Venerable Abbess Manshin, talented artist Coral Harnett, former BLIA South Island President Almeric Cheng, former Vice-President Mei-Hwa Chen and upcoming Vice-President Gina Chen for the ribbon cutting ceremony. Around 40 members witnessed the opening exhibition of the pioneer in China comic strips, a great father-and-daughter exhibition.
Venerable Abbess Manshin introduced the artworks of the late Mr ZiKai Feng’s as a prose poet, comic artist, writer, and musician. In pioneering Chinese comic art, his unique style of simple and memorable childlike artwork was introduced. Mr Feng’s comics have also represented Buddhist art and he adapted this concept with compassion. His life telling comics will also be exhibited at the Buddha Memorial Centre in Taiwan. YiYing, daughter of the famous Mr ZiKai Feng has also inherited his father’s talent and continued to create open, lively and natural characters in the art.
The FGY Art Gallery Christchurch artistic coordinator, See-Shen Lee then brought the group in understanding more about the artwork. The group was immersed in the beautiful scene and peaceful atmosphere of the exhibition, moreover, these cute comic were also beautifully written with poem and childhood characteristics. It is a confidence that it will attract a lot to shore and enjoy.
