Heart of a Child Rehearse Full Throttle
Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) Young Adult Division (YAD) South Island rehearsed at 3.00pm on October 2 for the second run-through of “2011 Heart of a Child – Funtastic Day” event. This run-through goes full throttle as YAD president Hao-Tin Lin, vice president Vanessa Wong and Jordan Wong with around 10 more members under the supervision of event advisor, See-Shen Lee. Everyone learned skills of managing and the YAD members’ hopes that they could bring Venerable Master’s Hsing Yun’s spirit of generosity, compassion, virtue and morality. They have also blended the understanding of “Three Poisons” and “Six Paramitas” in the event.
The “2011 Heart of a Child” is in its third consecutive year that will be happening on Sunday, October 9 but this year’s event will be a great difference from previous years. The Heart of a Child Day this year provides children with an encouraging spiritual experience where they learn the importance of teamwork compassion and tolerance and are empowered to adopt a joyful attitude towards life through fun activities.
