A Visit to Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office in NZ

With the lead of Fo Guang Shan (FGS) New Zealand’s Abbess, Venerable Abbess Manshin, Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) members were brought to Wellington on September 28 to visit the Taiwan economic and cultural office in New Zealand. Temple Supervisor of FGS North and South Island, Venerable Man Wang and Venerable Juexi, Venerable J Hao, BLIA North Island President, Dolly Tsai and BLIA South Island upcoming President See-Shen Lee were welcomed by Ambassador Zhang and his vice, Xue-Min Hwang, secretary, Shi-Min Lin and other members of the office.

As FGS New Zealand has a great connection with Ambassador Zhang, Venerable Abbess Manshin has presented a special gift with books of wisdom written by FGS founder Venerable Master Hsing Yun. Ambassador Zhang has then expressed the willingness into assisting Christchurch first hand after the earthquake and willing to promptly return to Taiwan in other process-related news. FGS and BLIA members also shared the experience and knowledge while helping the people of Christchurch.

In being grateful of FGS and BLIA in helping and contributing to the cultural office and the people of Christchurch, Ambassador Zhang represented the people of Republic of China in presenting an award. Venerable Abbess Manshin and other members received the award with honour and encouraged everyone to have cross activities like participating the opening of the Buddha Memorial Centre in Taiwan.
