The Official Opening of Fay’s Hand Painted Chinaware Exhibition
On 10 September, Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery North Island NZ officially opened Fay’s Hand painted Chinaware exhibition. In attendance were Abbess Manshin, Fay, WTV Chairman Gary Chang, 3 distinguished guests and 60 other guests. In her speech, Abbess Manshin mentioned that Fo Guang Yuan North and South Islands are the two art galleries among the 21 Fo Guang Yuan galleries worldwide and this shows the NZ temples’ determination and enthusiasm in realising Master Hsing Yun’s propagation of Buddhism through Arts in New Zealand. The art galleries served as platforms for the artists to showcase their passion and talent in Arts. Last year, Fay’s Hand Painted Chinaware Exhibition was held in Fo Guang Yuan South Island and this year, the North Islanders have the opportunity to appreciate her fine work. The NZ temples hope that Arts can bring beauty and joy to the suffering world.
Fay expressed her appreciation to the temple for making this exhibition a success and credited everything to the Buddha as it was a wish come true to share her Art pieces with everyone in the temples. She was very touched when Abbess Manshin mailed her the BLIA activity report 2010 where her exhibition last year in Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery South Island was reported in the temple’s activities, and determined to thank Abbess personally. She did not envisage that this visit would open up more inspiration. She was encouraged by Abbess to participate in Emperor Liang’s Repentance Service and after the dharma service, she was inspired and completed the “eight auspicious” Art piece. It is now on display with her other art pieces at the temple to be enjoyed by all visitors.
