FGS South Island Three Good Study Group

The “Three Good Study Group” commenced on September 14 at Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island with Venerable Juexi sharing words of wisdom from FGS International founder, Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s literature “The Past Hundreds of Words – One Root for the Full Blossomed Peach Flowers”, which the topic of “Great deal and No big deal” in the book was being studied. The study group was attended by 6 Buddha’s Light International Association members, Susan Wu, Liping, Louisa Kuo and the others. Before the study group started, the venerable briefed simple meditating positions to the members on how to lose feelings of impatience, then with a relaxed mind in facing any present situation.

Then, Venerable Juexi read out Master’s literature, and in these lines of literature, everyone enjoyed the textual structure and the layout of Master’s mind of compassion, knowledge and tolerance. While the class understood so many hardships and challenges happened from the misunderstanding of other people with the Master previously, the class also realised that the topic of “Great deal and No big deal” could be the solution. When people praised the great achievements of Venerable Master Hsing Yun, he humbly maintained in the condition of “No big deal”; instead, in seeing lay people and volunteers that worked hard, the Master is surely that their heart paid a really “Great Deal”.

While the class realised their own misunderstanding in the meaning of “Great Deal” and “No big deal” with the many stories of trouble and pain, the class gained knowledge that in life, one should not only have a good attitude, but also to learn to have an open heart, relaxed mind and follow the wisdom of the Master.
