Malaysians Found Surprises at FGS South Island
Members of the Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) from Malaysia, Yungang Liang and partner, Xiulan Jiang with their family came for a holiday in Christchurch where all 9 family members took this opportunity to visit Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island on September 6 with a warm welcome by temple supervisor, Venerable Juexi and Venerable Miaoyu.
Besides being a member, Xiulan is also a volunteer of the BLIA in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Xiulan’s father expressed that her daughter is also shrine attendant at the temple back home and the whole family is very devoted to BLIA. Venerable Ruheng from Malaysia encouraged them to visit FGS South Island while visiting Christchurch, NZ. The family was then presided by Venerable Miaoyu in prostrating to the Buddha and later on understanding the design and architecture of the building. It was a surprise for the family as they experience different atmosphere, architecture, art and space of FGS South Island. In the end, Venerable Juexi presented them Buddha’s images wishing them a pleasant and joyful journey in South Island, New Zealand.
