On 4 August, The Japanese Consulate-General based in Auckland, Mr Hachiro Ishida held a dinner at Sansui Japanese Cuisine & Bar as an appreciation to BLIA (North Island) NZ for its’ donation to the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami fund on Buddha’s Birthday in April, as well as to celebrate the 28th Wedding Anniversary of Mr. Carl Yang, The Director- General of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Auckland NZ. BLIA (North Island) NZ was represented by President Dolly Tsai at the dinner. Mr Hachiro Ishida shared with guests the latest BLIA newsletter he has received from BLIA (Tokyo) Japan. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the efforts by Fo Guang Shan worldwide, especially in propagating the Dharma, which deserves a special mention from the Japanese Government. He further expressed his hopes to visit Fo Guang Shan Taiwan one day.

After dinner, Mr Ishida showed some documents and photographs on the contribution of BLIA (North Island)NZ during the Japan earthquake and Tsunami to the dinner guests.
