Fo Guang Shan NZ Youths’ Haka Performance Rattles The Young Adult Executives’ Conference 2011

01 / 11

Fo Guang Shan NZ Abbess Manshin led 15 Young Adult Division members to participate in the five day Young Adult Executives’ Conference 2011 held at The Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Temple, Australia. The NZ Fo Guang youths’ innovative costumes and powerful rendition of the Haka won hearts and rounds of applause. It was so popular with the crowd and many participants from all over the world requested to wear the NZ Youth attire for a day or as a momento. The NZ Fo Guang Youths performed the Haka upon arrival at Nan Tien Temple as a gesture of appreciation to the organiser and invited everyone to join in the dance at the Welcome Dinner.

The NZ Fo Guang YAD One Chairman, Jeremy shared his experience in preparation for this conference from choreographing the dance to presentation of reports. The benefits gained from this conference were far more than what he had expected. In short, every youth gained a deeper understanding and insight of Humanistic Buddhism.

10 NZ Fo Guang Youth were awarded the White Elephant Certificate and they proudly vowed to shoulder more temple tasks in the future.
