01 / 08

Christchurch Personal Guiding Service Inc is a group of highly motivated, outgoing local residents that loves Christchurch city and enjoy showing visitors interesting, historic places close to the inner city and The Cultural Precinct by walking. As individuals, they present Christchurch city and its inhabitants in their own personal way. In their walks, no two walks are exactly the same, as the guides’ personality shines through.

Previously located at a kiosk in Cathedral Square, their guided walks have been going since 1982.

Around 20 of the members gathered Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island on 26 May 2011 at 10.30 am for a get together. They have booked the Water Drop Cafe in enjoying delicious meals and beverages during this gathering. A lot of them were first timers in visiting FGS South Island where happy faces and joyful spirit were lighten up while they were having a good time chit-chatting and meeting old friends in FGS South Island.

After a satisfactory time in the Water Drop Cafe, they have individually visited the Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery Christchurch in appreciating the “One Stroke Calligraphy” by Venerable Master Hsing Yun and also “The Art of Traditional Chinese Dress – The Beauty of QiPao” upstairs.

The group was pleased of the visit and wishes to have more of their gatherings here at the FGS South Island.
