Peter as being a good example of “One Teacher on One Path,”
Today, Friday 27 June Venerable Abbess Manshin, together will all Venerables and about seventy committee members, attended a family visit at the President of BLIA Auckland, Mr Peter Young’s residence. It was Peter Young’s 61st birthday. Members each shared a brief account of their experiences of joyfulness, teamwork and memories of time spent in the company of the President.
Peter Young expressed his great appreciation of Fo Guang Shan Temple, the Venerables, support of members and co-operation, which all together create very good conditions for the continued development of BLIA in Auckland. He also mentioned that, since migrating to New Zealand more than ten years ago, he has experienced living in a variety of houses and local environments and he retains a strong, memorable impression of his previous, oldest house. He shared that this experience applies to Buddhism in the way that he has gained some understanding and realisations from various religions and Buddhist organisations which he has contributed to in the past, but he has come to realise that Fo Guang Shan, a Mahayana traditional Humanistic Buddhist Temple, offers the best and most suitable Bodhisattva path for Buddhist practitioners to walk along.
Venerable Abbess Manshin praised Peter as being a good example of “One Teacher on One Path,” which is a way that can be followed by any Buddhist. The Venerable Abbess encouraged everyone that progress in, as well as the propagation of Buddhism, requires the support of everyone’s diligence and team efforts. The Venerable praised all members, it was appreciated that, despite many difficulties and obstructions, our contribution towards the Temple grants us “full marks.”
