10 Chapters of Emperor Liang Repentance Completed!
To propagate the virtues of filial piety, gratitude and transferring merits, Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island NZ has conducted the Emperor Liang Jewel Repentance dharma function from March 25th to April 1st, 2011. Merits have been transferred for the well-being. Wishes and prosperity of all devotees and participants for world peace, harmony and happiness had been blessed.
In all 10 chapters or scrolls of the Repentance, incenses, flowers, light, daub, fruits, tea, food, pearls, treasures and cloths has been offered respectively; and each offering represents its own wishes and meaning.
On the 29th and 30th of March, around 70 devotees and participants has came and chanted in a dignifying way for the eighth and ninth chapter, which is the offering of pearl and treasure. On the 31st of March, the last chapter has been chanted and the offering of cloth has been made where devotees wished of prosperity, warmth and fortune.
Venerable Abbess Manshin expressed, the strength, the vows, and the cause of the devotees and participants had made history in FGS South Island NZ in having this Repentance here for the first time; it will bring them luck and fortune. Abbess then added, it is commendable in completing the Repentance after the Christchurch earthquakes and to live their life; hoping everyone in having wisdoms and being compassionate after this dharma function, following words given by Venerable Master Hsing Yun in this Chinese New Year, “Skillful Wisdom and Enlightened Mind”.
Abbess then encouraged everyone to further their learning and practice of Buddhism, remember the guidance of Triple Gems, cultivate the fortune and causes, and take this opportunity to confess and transfer merits.
As the ending of this dharma function on the 1st of April 2011, Abbess has led the participants in chanting of the “Vajracchedika Jewel Repentance”, hoping all participants treasure this moment. Everyone thanked Abbess appreciatively in completing the exalting Emperor Liang Jewel Repentance greatly.
