7th Chapter & visit from Representative Chang
The “Emperor Liang Repentance Services for those Lost in the recent Christchurch Earthquake and Ancestors” continued on for the 6th and 7th Chapter on the 28th of March. Fo Guang Shan (FGS) members and Buddhist devotees attended to the Buddhist Temple no matter rain or shine for the dharma function for all these 7 chapters. There are 10 chapters of the Emperor Liang Repentance and Venerable Abbess Manshin has led them in chanting of the Emperor Liang Scrolls, over 2000 Buddha and Bodhisattvas, and Mantras in order for confessions and wishes. Abbess then explains and gave examples about the bad habits of a human being with the causes and effects, and the retribution of karma relations. Abbess encourages everyone to face all these bad karma and bravely make a vow to change.
Besides that, Representative Mr Chang from Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Wellington visited FGS South Island Buddhist Temple on the same day in accompany of director, Shuqioa Liao. They have paid reverence in the Buddha Hall and made wishes. Mr Chang then thanked FGS NZ in still continuing to give support and services to the family members that have been affected by the Christchurch earthquake. Abbess has also complimented Mr Chang on giving full support immediately and getting the assistance from Taiwan; showing the Buddha spirit, moving hearts of the community.
