Seeing off Israel’s Ambassador and Police Forensics

On 8th of March, Fo Guang Shan New Zealand Venerable Abbess Manshin was invited by member of the National Strategic Ethnic Advisor, Sergeant Rakesh Naidoo to the Disaster Victim Identification Centre in Burnham Military Camp to meet the special Police Forensics from Israel and attend their farewell ceremony.

After the disaster, over 45 special medical examiners for the DNA testimony from Israel, China, Korea, Australia, Thailand, Singapore and Japan; all 7 countries others have came to aid Christchurch immediately after earthquake strike to help New Zealand government to speed up the process of identification the identity of the earthquake victims. Partial job have completed at this stage, these backstage heroes prepared to fly back to their own country. The Israel police forensic and specialist will travel back on 8th March, to show the appreciation on their professional help and hard work, the ceremony had invited the respect Maori Elder Reverend Maurice and the representative of interfaith religion Fo Guang Shan New Zealand Venerable Abbess Manshin to blessing. New Zealand Superintendent, police officer and nearly 150 people attend this ceremony.

In the event, Reverend Maurice gave heavenly blessings to the heroes that came. Venerable Abbess Manshin, as the representative of BLIA NZ has then presented "Diamond Sutra” to Israel’s Ambassador Shemi Tzur and shakes hands with the others that came for the support. With the blessing from Reverend Elder and patron, have actually given the cleansing and joyful mind to those Israel police forensic members and they have experience the value and responsibility to serve the Christchurch community.
