Meeting of Bathing the Buddha for Christhurch

01 / 06

BLIA NZ South Island held a committee meeting at 6pm, on the 9th of March. Venerable Abbess Manshin, South Island President Zheng Haiwen, Vice-President Chen Meihua, committee members Guo Mingyuan, Chen Yanying and around 30 members attended the meeting. President Zheng expressed that the Christchurch earthquake that took place this time is destructive and has saddened the nation. With that, BLIA NZ has offered hot food and medical aid for the people in need to have a peace of mind.

With this, all programs that should be on this period of time have been suspended to focus in helping out in relieving the earthquake. Lecturer Chen Puchang has also called up to salute all members in doing a great job in the relief and also thanked Buddha and Bodhisattvas that everyone here is fine.

Venerable Abbess Manshin expressed gratitude for all BLIA members to have strength in not just being affected by the earthquake but to stand up and help in the BLIA NZ Earthquake Relief Centre in these two weeks. All of the BLIA members have shown their capabilities and matured a lot. Abbess has also informed that this year’s bathing the Buddha festival will also include blessings for the public to relief their mind from the earthquake and to help them start a new life. After thanking the Abbess, the meeting for the bathing of Buddha will be held again next Thursday while this meeting adjourned.
